Information and Communication Technology
Society organizes itself around individual relationships and is then able to manipulate relationships yet to be established. Individuals form groups to exert control over the structure by their ability to control information. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has altered the flow of information causing a transformation in society. This has resulted in the emergence of an informational elite who by their control over flows of information, dictate formation of relationships, forcing the old power centers to re-align themselves to maintain their influence.
